Spring Fragrances: Passport to Italy

France may be home to many fine fragrances, but it took an Italian to bring perfume to Paris. When 14 year old Catherine De Medici, moved to France from Italy to marry Henry II, she brought her perfumer, René le Florentin with her. In fact, the word perfume is from the Latin “per fume”, through smoke. Centuries later, Italy is the rising fragrance capitol of the world.
